Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)

Handforth Town Council receives a percentage of the CIL monies that Cheshire East Council collects from certain types of development within the Handforth parish area. Because Handforth has a Neighbourhood Plan (adopted by Cheshire East Council in 2018) the Town Council receives 25% of the total CIL monies collected within the parish. CIL monies are intended to fund infrastructure projects. The Town Council has drawn up an infrastructure delivery plan that currently includes construction of a station car park, refurbishment of the community centre and improvements within Meriton Road Park and Stanley Hall Park.
